Based on symptoms, I believe I had a ruptured ovarian cyst a few days ago (severe abdominal pain that radiated down to may legs). Within a few hours, the pain began to subside and within 2 days I no longer feel anything but a bit of tenderness.

Because we were away on vacation, I didn’t seek medical help… I have an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow, but I wanted to know if it is possible that I have caused damage by not going sooner.

Additionally, if it was a ruptured ovarian cyst, will it still be detectable by ultrasound?

I have been able to do everything these past few days, including lifting my toddler, housework, etc.
I can do a search for links & I can figure out that I can ask the doctor… Seriously. Only answer if you have some sort of knowledge…
It turned out to be a hemorrhagic corpus luteum. Just needs to be watched, but should go away on its own.

I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since i have been around 16 yrs old. I am now 27. I ended up getting rushed to the ER by ambulance friday night. It all started out where i seriously couldn’t breathe. I ended up going outside thinking that the cool ND air would help. It didn’t. I was burning up. Liturally dripping sweat, and remind you it was 36 degrees outside. By the time the ambulace came i was having labor like contractions every 5 minutes while i still couldn’t breathe. I live half hour away from the closest hospital. By the time i got to the hospital the labor like pains were every 2 minutes, i could breathe better due to the O2 they put me on in the ambulace, but had hypothermia. I ended up passing out in the xray room and woke up on the floor. I wasn’t pregnant, well from what i knew, the ran no pt test, i had a ct scan and they said it was a ruptured cyst. I ended up so swollen that even today i can’t wear my wedding band. And i have what they said was a heat rash.
This heat rash is now all over my body. Now i have had ruptured cysts a few times and never experianced anything like this. Just wondering if anyone else has? I have also been very weak and light headed since. My period isn’t due for another week and a half but started bleeding today and have never bleed before after a ruptured cyst. I am going to go and get a second opinion tomorrow, but i can’t seem to find if this is in the norm or not for a ruptured cyst anywhere online. Thanks all and i’m sorry that this is soo long.
Scarey here really. Its been horrid. I can’t get any answers from the hospital that i went to. But of course not, i mean who wants to amitt that they dropped a patient who couldn’t stand on her own and let her pass out in the XRay room. I’ve been online trying to figure out all of my lab results, too bad they can’t write these things in english….lol
I guess, after mounds of papers, they did do a pt test. Negative. But now according to my ct scan, everything from my abdomen and pelvic scan, points to pregnancy. I even told my husband this is no ruptured cyst. I have had those. And to me, if i could ever know what it feels like to pop an ovary, that would be it. But the other night, it was exactally like labor. It didn’t hurt on the right side, and hasn’t since. It’s been from the of the uterus and working its way around both sides to the back. Thank God I’m going to a good doc tomorrow. Sec. opinion. I’ll keep ya’ll posted, and thanks so far for all the help.
Well all, so far no good getting in to a doc. They had no openings yestday and all that could see me was a nurse today. To me that kinda defeated the purpose. Anywho’s, still been really weak, tired and can’t keep anything down. Let ya know when i get in. I am now doing some research on docs in a city a ways away from here. Guess they fixed up a girl around here with the same problems that the docs here messed up. Trying to find out who her doc was.

I have had this happen twice before and besides a lot of pain, I had no other reactions, I went to the doctor and they did an ultrasound, confirmed it and sent me on my way. But this time The next day I came down with a fever, body aches and I threw up once. 12 hours later I feel fine, but I’m still worried. I don’t want to go if nothing more will happen, only if this is life threatening.
I called my Local hospital nurses station, and was told to go see my pcp within two days. I will wait, I wouldn’t want to sit in the ER on a friday night!! I would be there all night!
