Removal Of Ovarian Cyst Using Various Surgical Techniques
What is an ovarian cyst? These are known to be semisolid material or fluid filled sacs seen to be developing within or over the ovary. The two major classifications of ovarian cysts are functional or non-disease related ovarian cyst and abnormal ovarian cyst. Most of the ovarian cysts are considered to be benign and are presently largely in women. Therefore, the removal of ovarian cyst is not necessary as they start disappearing with time.
Abnormal ovarian cyst mainly requires removal of ovarian cyst by laparoscopy. Surgical removal of ovarian cyst is only required if it measures more than six centimeters or if it remains for six weeks or more.
Nowadays quite often, the removal of ovarian cyst is done without ovary removal. Fertility of the individual remains to be the same even with the removal of one ovary as it is possible to become pregnant with the other.
The risk of cancer tends to increase as your age adds up and so is the importance in the removal of ovarian cyst. Your recovery time will be reduced if you select on the laparoscopic procedure to be done for the removal of ovarian cyst. With this method, you need to spend just a single day at the hospital. On the other hand, in case of an open surgery you will have to spend longer days at the place of surgery as it involved greater incision to be administered. Local or general anesthesia is administered in case of laparoscopic procedure where as general anesthesia is given to the patient undergoing an open surgery.
You have to do certain preparations before the removal of ovarian cyst. You will have to answer certain queries related to your health and whether you are prone to allergies caused by medications. The blood is taken and also tested for revealing the total health condition. Other related tests done include chest x-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiogram and CT scan. Contact lenses, hearing aids, dentures, jewelry, glasses and hair ornaments are to be removed prior to the procedure. Detailed review and the procedure involved in anesthesia are explained by the anesthesiologist before administering the process. Removal of ovarian cyst is carried out without any pain and is nothing to be worried about.

Females: have you ever had a ruptured ovarian cyst?
On Thursday, I was taken to the ER for severe lower abdominal and lower back pain. After a CT scan, they said that they found fluid which could possibly mean a ruptured ovarian cyst. Well, I have actually had this happen before, but I don’t remember the pain being this intense!! My question is, if you’ve had this happen to you, was the pain very intense, and how long were you in pain?? I still can hardly walk the pain is so bad, and pain medicine has not worked at all! Can anybody relate to this??

Did I have an ovarian cyst rupture?
I stopped using birth control for about a year due to mood swings, and hot flashes. I couldn’t tolerate the hormones.
Currently I just started taking birth control again and I have a family history of ovarian cysts.
In the past I had an abdominal/pelvic Cat Scan and it showed a cyst on my ovary. Prior to that, I have been to the doctor with complaints of pain during sexual *********** numerous times.
I am due for my period in 4-5 days and I was doubled over in extremely bad pain last night. I still have the rest of my birth control pills in the pack as well.
Last night I passed an extremely large blood clot and have been bleeding since. It is too early for my period? Especially since I am still suppposed to be taking the pills. (I am never early as a matter of fact)
Anyone have any advice or experience anything like this???

Can ovarian cysts make you nauseous if they are bleeding or causing trouble?
I have cysts every month. Sometimes they are fairly large and one has been 5 1/2 cm complex recently. Is it possible if they rupture or cause bleeding that they can also cause unusual nausea?
By unusual I mean that I could feel the cyst mid cycle but after my period I’ve had some spotting and also nausea for the last couple of days that lasts pretty much all days.
